Thick ropes haul both wrists out to the far corner pockets and both ankles to the near ones, and that is how he stays - spread-eagled face-up on the green baize in a warm dim frat-house games room, shirt off, arms stretched wide overhead and both bare armpits pulled open and completely helpless.
